SPECIAL RECOGNITION
Julie Weith Smith was honored on March 19, 2009 as one of greater San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valley’s Top HR Professionals by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal. Approximately 400 human resources professionals and others were in attendance at the Sheraton Universal to pay tribute to the 18 award recipients who were selected out of 80 nominations that were identified throughout a large portion of Los Angeles County. Mrs. Weith Smith was the only human resources consulting firm that received the recognition.
“This is a huge honor for me, my company and the human resources industry as a whole” says Weith Smith. “Having a strong foundation of HR practices is so critical to employers; especially with the current changes and expected additional changes in employment-related regulations. The incredible value in human resources has gone unnoticed for many years – HR professionals are improving their knowledge and skills, and their ability to be a valuable strategic force within organizations.

Julie Weith-Smith is the founder, president, and lead consultant of CHRS and has successfully provided human resources for more than 25 years.
She has a bachelor’s of science degree in business management and an MBA with a concentration in human resources management from Ashford University. Julie is PHR and SPHR designated which identifies depth and breadth of HR knowledge on a national level, with her primary area of expertise being maintaining compliance with state and federal complex employment regulations.
CHRS was founded in Southern California and moved its headquarters to the Atlanta area in 2009. Julie maintains an office on the west coast to facilitate the many California clients that CHRS services. Throughout her career, Julie has been acknowledged for her innovative approach to identifying creative solutions to HR issues that plague employers, especially those who conduct business in states that follow strict employment and labor regulations such as California. CHRS currently services clients in 21 states and is growing.
In 2009, Julie was honored as one of the Top HR Professionals in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valley by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal – and the only human resources consultant who received an award – the other recipients were practitioners. She was also honored at the Women in Business Leadership Awards and the Business Rising Star Award for 2009 and 2010.
Julie is a regular contributor to the Santa Clarita Valley Business Journal, authoring its monthly HR Column. She has also contributed as an industry expert guest on local radio talk show programs and publications and newspapers. Her topics include those related to marketing oneself in the labor market to the impact of economic changes to the workforce.
